The enzyme Type II 5-alpha-reductase is involved in the production of DHT. Propecia inhibits the action of Type II 5-alpha-reductase, thereby decreasing DHT concentrations in treated men by approximately 60 percent.
This medication is available in the strength of 1mg. With regular usage of Propecia, you can see visible re-growth within a span of three months. In case, you discontinue the Propecia medication, the effective would recede over a period of 12 months. You should not make use of Propecia if you are allergic to finasteride or any of the constituents of Propecia medication.
Like all prescription drugs, Generic Propecia may cause side effects. In clinical studies, side effects from Generic Propecia were uncommon and did not affect most men.
